Hidden Time
There's always time to pursue your goals, even in busy schedules, by utilizing otherwise mindless tasks, like driving, to be productive and make incremental progress towards your aspirations.

(As a note this was written using voice dictation while driving to work.)
No matter what it is you are trying to get done in life, there is always time to do it. No matter how busy you are. You might have 5 kids, 2 jobs and just feel like you could never have time to write a blog, start a business, work out, learn to sing, learn to dance. But if you look for time that otherwise you are doing sort of a mindless task, like driving, then you can try and fill that time with something else productive.
For example I’m writing this while I drive to work. The entire article will have been written via dictation in the car. This allows me to get 15 to 20 minutes of writing done every day that I wouldn’t get done otherwise. I would just sit in the car, listen to music, think about what I am going to do in the day or, maybe worry about a problem. None of that is terribly useful. Music is fun, sometimes I might do that as it is nice to relax, but really being able to get something else done at the same time is far more effective and lets you get much further towards your goals.
When I worked at a Staples Copy Center I had lots of time where I was doing nothing with my mind, so I learned to whistle, I couldn’t snap with my left hand so I learned to snap. I learned to balance a broom on my finger, hand, feet and nose. I practice singing in the shower, driving, and walking around.
If you are working on trying to improve the depth of your squat you can focus on your form whenever you bend over to pick something up and get a little bit better every time you do it. You are not going to make huge strides each time you do it but doing something is better than doing nothing, almost always.
People get really stuck with trying to do the right thing instead of just doing a thing. It rarely seems to work out for them. If you just focus on doing the best things you’ve currently found you’ll at least be making progress towards a goal. Even if you decide later that you should be doing something else, hopefully you will have been paying enough attention to learn the lessons that life has been teaching you this whole time and you’ll do better on the next thing.
I think the secret to working well is to work poorly often. And pay attention to what you are learning. It WILL be on the test. All of it.
